Kissing Habits In Different Parts of The World

For all of us it’s obvious - when we’re in love, we kiss. “The French Kiss” is an expression of passion, joy and love. In the eyes of some other cultures, however, “our” way of kissing looks funny.

What’s nowadays called French kiss was known even before 2,000 years ago. We know that from some pieces of poetry written back then.

If an indian however, sees two people French kissing in a movie, he’ll laugh like never before. For him, this way of “eating” each other is extremely funny, but at the same time he can’t understand how is that a way of expressing love.

It seems that only half the human species practice this kind of kissing.

Other cultures express their love in different ways, and the French kiss is very strange to them. Some Africans, for example, are afraid from kissing, because they believe that they’ll lose their soul. Before lovemaking, they dance.

Other African tribes consider kissing as extremely impractical. In equatorial Africa, such kiss is life threatening because the women there wear a wooden disk with spikes attached to their upper lip. To express their love, men hold the woman’s thumb in their palm.

The Chinese consider the kiss as a very intimate expression, which can only be done in the bedroom, and it’s not polite for people on the streets to kiss freely.

Other African tribes just hold their faces close to each other, just to feel its warmth and aroma. They dance, and touch their nose gently.
